Do I need a Paystack account, and does it cost extra?
No, it is optional. Without it your invoices show your bank details for EFT. Paystack has no monthly fee — it only takes a percentage of payments you receive.
You can start invoicing today without Paystack. Until you connect it, your invoices show your bank details and clients pay you by ordinary EFT. Everything else — sending, chasing, credit notes, exports — works exactly the same.
Connecting it adds a Pay now button so clients can pay by card, Apple Pay or Instant EFT in a couple of taps. The money goes straight into your own bank account; it never passes through Klaar.
It is not a second subscription. Paystack is free to open and charges no monthly fee. They take a percentage of each payment you actually receive, so if nobody pays by card in a month, it costs you nothing. Their current rates are on paystack.com/pricing.
Paystack verifies your business before you can take live payments, which takes one to three business days. Carry on invoicing in the meantime, then connect it under Settings, in the Card and Apple Pay section, once they approve you.
