When may I call something a Tax Invoice?

Only if you are registered for VAT. Klaar reads your VAT setting and picks the correct heading, so you cannot get it wrong by accident.

A business that is not registered for VAT may not head a document "Tax Invoice" and may not charge VAT on it. Doing so is an offence, and the recipient cannot claim anything off it.

In Klaar this is a switch under Settings. Turn "We are registered for VAT" on and your documents are headed Tax Invoice and show VAT separately. Leave it off and they go out as plain invoices with no VAT line at all.

If not, the assistant in the corner can dig further, or a person will pick it up by email — Mon to Fri, 08:00 to 17:00 SAST.
